Welcome to the first
edition of the 'NRBC Newsletter.' What is it? It's the newsletter of the 'Northlake's
Reformed Baptist Church ( NRBC ).'
Let me try to explain the
reason for bringing out this newsletter. Sometimes it is thought that we
must join some cult or sect if we are to be saved. Sometimes we are told
we have to be good, go to church or confession, be baptised, or some other
external act or acts. This newsletter is simply about bringing to you the
good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the Bible explains it.
The good news is that if
we turn to the Lord Jesus Christ from our lives of rebellion against Him,
and trust Him with the salvation He offers us, then we will be saved forever,
and be with Him in heaven when we die. That's good news that sounds too
good to be true. But it is true. Let's see what the Bible tells us:
'To Him all the prophets witness
that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission from
sins (Acts 10:43).'
'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and you will be saved (Acts 16:31).'
'Nor is there salvation in any
other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which
you must be saved (Acts 4:12).'
'For God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish
but have everlasting life (John 3:16).'
So the aim of this newsletter
is to bring you to an acquaintance with the message of the Bible, and to
invite you to a personal relationship with Jesus, through trusting Him and
His salvation.
We want to invite you to
come and hear the good news for yourself at our church meetings and Bible
studies. You are most welcome to come along and get to know us, we would
love to see you. So why not come along.
