On this day in 373 AD, Athanasius died. He had been the chief defender of the true faith against the attacks of Arian heresy at Nicea.

 

1559 - JOHN KNOX:

On this day in 1559, John Knox returned to Scotland from Geneva in order to lead the reformation in Scotland.
