LIFE OF JOSEPH IVIMEY:
Joseph Ivimey (picture) was born on the 22nd May 1773 at Ringwood, Hampshire, England.
Ivimey was saved during his younger days and baptised on the 16th September 1790.
On the 16th January 1805, Joseph Ivimey was appointed pastor of the Eagle Street Church, Red Lion Square, London. During his ministry at the Eagle Street Church, he had the joy of being able to baptise his own mother and father.
Among his works were a biography on John Bunyan and 'A History of the English Baptists.' He was also keenly involved in seeking the abolition of slavery.
Ivimey died on the 8th February 1834.
