Hi and welcome to 'Kevin's Library,' an insight into my own personal library. This is a work in perpetual development and will eventually list the entire contents of my own library.
What's On This Page:
INTRODUCTION
Some people will be familiar with web sites such as www.shelfari.com and the like. Shelfari provides members an opportunity to share what you have in your own library with other users of the Shelfari site. I wasn't a fan of the site, though the concept was very interesting and seemed very useful to me. So this is my own take on sharing my library with others and it will be quite different from the Shelfari site.
If you are a member of Shelfari or similar web site and would like to share your library with others in one format or another, drop me a line and I may provide a link to your site (should it fit my own criteria for linking to it ~ which is also a work in progress).
This particular part of the particularbaptist.com site will grow to include a listing of my entire library, which will take some time as it is quite large. The size of my library has become the talking point of most people who visit and we are all wondering where the next bookshelf will actually go. I know I am due another, but even I have no idea as to just where I can put it at this stage. As I add to my library something like a 'shelf' a month (usually more), you can see why this is becoming a problem for me.
As the listing grows, there will be links to reviews of books, comments, other readers comments on the books (provided people give me them of course), etc. As I say, a work in progress and I am open to ideas as to how I can develop the concept further.
THE LISTING
I have developed a system for classifying my library, somewhat loosely based on the Dewey system. In short, I have modified the Dewey system to suit my own purposes and the listing here will somewhat reflect that system (my own modification).
