1900s: Samuel Lilley and Ruby White

Ruby White's family would travel for their family holidays to Swan Bay, staying with the family of Samuel Lilley's. They would travel to Swan Bay from Newcastle.

To get to Swan Bay, the family would travel from Hamilton to Hexham by train. From Hexham they would travel via McCulloch's Coach to Raymond Terrace. At Raymond Terrace they would be picked up by Samuel Lilley or someone from the Lilley family. They would then travel by buggy to Swan Bay.

During the depression years, Ruby's family lived at Swan Bay, living in bark humpies.
