Welcome to the latest edition of Kevin's Outpost. Yes, it's late again ~ but not as much as last time :-) I suppose that means I'm getting better at it, but I'm not about to promise it will be even better next time. I'll try though.
There have been some considerable advancements over the past few weeks at the particularbaptist.com site and these all over the place. There are too many to mention during this editorial, but I am really pleased that things are moving in the right direction again. Hopefully this trend will continue in coming weeks and months and even years.
I have quite a lot of content to add and plenty of plans for the site. Of course, I always welcome ideas from users of the site. I won't promise that they will all be used, but I certainly will look at every suggestion seriously.
Another area were I welcome input from others, is in the area of content. I am always looking for more content to add to the site ~ it must of course be solid material. No 'rubbish' will be accepted on the site and I reserve the right to reject anything that I consider 'rubbish.' I think it is quite clear from what is already on the site as to what is acceptable in the way of submitted content.
Good old Particular Baptist content from prior to 1920 is very much welcome. Obviously, anything that is still copyright protected cannot be placed on the site. Older works from the early Particular Baptists is hard to find and I am very keen to get a hold of as much material from these men as I can. If you can help, please do.
Of course, good puritan and reformed works are welcome as well. I have quite a bit of material on the site from this direction and will be adding plenty more in the future, Lord-willing. Very few are Baptist I know, but we Calvinistic Baptists are usually blessed with a little discernment as to what we will accept at face value :-) Seriously though, there is plenty to be learnt from other brethren (that don't teach out and out rubbish of course).
Enjoy this latest edition.

SERMONS OF HUGH LATIMER:
"Our Father." These words pertain not to the petitions, they be but an entering, a seeking favour at God's hand; yet if we well weigh and consider them, they admonish us of many things and strengthen our faith wondrous well. For this word FATHER signifieth that we be Christ's brothers, and that God is our Father. He is the eldest Son, he is the son of God by nature, we be his sons by adoption through his goodness; therefore he biddeth us to call him our Father, which is to be had in fresh memory, and great reputation. For here we are admonished how that we be "reconciled unto God; we, which before-times were his enemies, are made not the children of God, and inheritors of everlasting life." This we be admonished by this word Father. So that it is a word of much importance and great reputation: for it confirmith our faith, when we call him Father. Therefore our Saviour, when he Teacheth us to call God Father, teacheth us to understand the fatherly affection which God beareth toward us; which thing maketh us bold and hearty to call upon him, knowing that he beareth a good-will towards us, and that he will surely hear our prayers.
When we be in trouble, we doubt of a stranger whether he will help us or not: but our Saviour commanding us to call God Father, teacheth us to be assured of the love and good-will of God toward us. So by this word "Father," we learn to stablish and to comfort our faith, knowing most assuredly that he will be good unto us. For Christ was a perfect schoolmaster, he lacked no wisdom; he knew his Father's will and pleasure; he teacheth us, yea and most certainly assureth us, that God will be no cruel judge, but a loving Father. Here we see what commodities we have in this word, "Father." Seeing now that we find such commodities by this one word, we ought to consider the whole prayer with great diligence and earnest mind. For there is no word nor letter contained in this prayer, but it is of great importance, and therefore it is necessary for us to know and understand it thoroughly; and then to speak it considerately with great devotion; else it is to no purpose to speak the words with understanding, it is but lip labour and vain babbling, and so unworthy to be called prayer; as it was in time past used in England.

AUSSIE OUTPOST WEBSITE:
News at the Aussie Outpost:
1. The Aussie Outpost Cult Warning Page has been given a 'face lift.' I have now posted the first 'Outpost Warning Page.' This warning page has to deal with 'Cooneyites.' This organisation is a problem in Australia.
Available at:

2. I have now added a new section to 'Kevin's Place' at particularbaptist.com. I now have a section called 'Kevin's Library,' which in short will become a complete listing of my own personal library, along with reviews of books, comments, etc.
Visit Kevin's Library at:
http://particularbaptist.com/kevins/kevinslibrary.html
3. I am in the process of developing a Particular Baptist Church History page in the Aussie Outpost Institute of Church History section of the site. It is only in the early stages of development but is already worth a visit for those interested in Baptist Church History.
Visit the page at:

4. I have added a new Aussie Outpost Message Board to the site. The service is far superior to anything I have add on the site before. Come along and share your thoughts on a range of subjects and topics. The message boards are new, so they will take a little while to take off I would think.

KEVIN'S PLACE:
A whole heap of information about my life and who I am can be found via a page I call Kevin's Place. From this page you can gain entrance into my Blog. There isn't a real lot there, but I'm trying to 'blog' more regularly these days - I just need to remember to do so.
Also on this page there are links to other things that interest me, as well as a link to Kevin's Library (which is a work in progress). Kevin's Library is all about my actual library - it may be of interest to fellow book lovers. I still have many hundreds of books to add to the list.
Also on the page are links to my 'family and friends' letters. They are generally 'mundane' in content, though I hope to be adding more 'spiritual' content to them in the future. They are currently in a transition stage, from what I used them for previously, to what they will now become.

KEVIN'S WILDERNESS JOURNEYS:
There has been some major progress in the migration of this site from previous hosts. Most of the photos associated with Kevin's Wilderness Journeys are now all located in the same location and easily accessible for all. If you are into wilderness, especially Australian wilderness, why not have a look at Kevin's Wilderness Journeys?
