Greetings all - Yes, I’m back! I haven’t really gone anywhere, just been very busy with my new job. Hopefully I can still put a bit of work into things here at the Aussie Outpost. There’s a new email address as well and this will begin to appear on the website all over the place as I get opportunity to change over to it:
Anyhow, sorry for being away from it all for so long. As you can see from this newsletter there is still plenty to pray for around the world.
MONDAY 5/04/2004: Australia
Australian Reformed Baptist OutpostPlease remember the work of the Aussie Outpost. What is our mission? That is a good question, but one difficult to answer as it is a multi-faceted ministry. The best idea is to probably visit our web site and have a look around.
Visit: http://particularbaptist.com/index.html
There is a great interest in the wider church as this prayer letter bears testimony to. A number of associated ministries at the Aussie Outpost seek to be of support to the wider church, including creating a web presence for several churches and organisations, the Outpost BookAid ministry, etc. At the moment Aussie Outpost is struggling to meet the growing ministry opportunities in other countries through a lack of funding (if you can help please contact me - nrbcpastorkev@yahoo.com.au).
I have also been struggling to actually continue the work with my current work commitments. I have no intention to close the ministry or site, but a need exists for me to be able to re-organise my life somewhat to get on top of everything. The fact that this prayer calendar has got out suggests a step in the right direction.
TUESDAY 6/04/2004: Tajikistan
Christians are facing great opposition in Tajikistan where Muslims are opposed to Christianity. Christians have been killed in Tajikistan for their faith. Please remember our brethren in this country.
WEDNESDAY 7/04/2004: Laos
A group of Christians recently arrested in Laos have been released from prison. This followed the death of the accuser in a motorcycle accident.
In other news from Laos believers in some villages are being told to renounce their faith of face being beaten to death. To avoid being beaten they must leave their homes. When they do this their homes are destroyed.
THURSDAY 8/04/2004: Philippines
Cubao Reformed Baptist ChurchAn outreach currently underway at Cubao involves reaching out to the homeless on a Thursday night. Please pray for this ministry. There are some issues relating to glue sniffing by some of the teenagers that attend.
FRIDAY 9/04/2004: Israel
Antony Simon - Voice in the WildernessThe church continues to reach out to unbelievers through its various ministries. Times are tough, especially with all the uncertainty and immediate danger of terrorist attacks. Please remember Antony and the ministry of Voice in the Wilderness. The church is seeking larger premises to meet in.
SATURDAY 10/04/2004: Kenya
Underhill (Keith and Priscilla) family in NairobiPlease pray for the new work in Korr. A believer in Korr has lost her job for holding to the truth being taught. Some others who were disciplined some time ago have repented and re-joined the church.
Also the church in Nairobi has plans before the city council for approval (re-new church buildings). There have been times when there has been standing room only at services.
SUNDAY 11/04/2004: Turkey
Apparently an entire village in Turkey has recently rejected Islam, with many becoming Christians. As to what beliefs these people hold I do not know - but what a joy to hear of so many people rejecting darkness and coming to Christ!
MONDAY 12/04/2004: Jordan and England
Peter Law - Now at West Kilburn Baptist Church (London)Please remember Peter Law as he takes up a new role as pastor of the West Kilburn Baptist Church in London. The work in Jordan is now in the hands of leaders of the Jordanian Church in Hashemi. Peter will be returning to Jordan every so often to assist in the work there. Peter’s induction into the pastorate at West Kilburn will take place on April 24.
TUESDAY 13/04/2004: India
Please remember our brethren in India. Opposition to the gospel and Christians continues to grow. Hindus are continuing to attack our brethren in this country. Though the opposition grows, so does the church in the affected areas.
WEDNESDAY 14/04/2004: Nepal
Despite opposition to Christianity in the Buddhist kingdom of Nepal, Christianity has continued to grow in that country. Many are coming to Christ, despite opposition.
THURSDAY 15/04/2004: Croatia
Bracketts’Please remember the Brackett (Kris and Nina, Gracie and Gaby) family in Croatia. They have been ministering in Croatia for about 5 years. With the decline in the value of the American dollar financial support is becoming an issue, though the Lord continues to provide.
Because the church is no longer allowed to be independent the church has become a member of the Croatian Baptist Union. The church continues to grow and may soon need to move in order to gain more space.

FRIDAY 16/04/2004: South Africa
Einfeldts’Rene and Sonia Einfeldt have now joined Ambassadors International Ministry Inc (AIMI). AIMI is a new ministry and the Einfeldts’ will continue to serve in South Africa. They will be working with national believers in the city of Kimberley.
Pray that passports and other such requirements will be provided - there are some difficulties in obtaining these at the current time. Pray also that land will be available for the work in Kimberley.
SATURDAY 17/04/2004: Cuba
Christian churches are springing up all across Cuba and the government seems to be doing little to stop this work. More than 20 000 people are believed to have become Christians in the last 10 years.
SUNDAY 18/04/2004: Iraq
Baghdad Baptist ChurchAbout a month or so (February 14, 2004) ago the newly began Baghdad Baptist Church lost one of its founding pastors in an attack by Saddam loyalists on the car in which he was travelling. Four American pastors were travelling in their car when it was ambushed and sprayed with automatic arms fire. Pastor John Kelly was killed and the other three men wounded.
MONDAY 19/04/2004: Russia
Pastor Mochalov Sergey Aleksandrovich - Grace Church - IrkutskPastor Mochalov Sergey Aleksandrovich of the Grace Church in Russia has recently contacted me. The church has gone from being Arminian in 1990 to now being Reformed.
Pastor Aleksandrovich became a Christian in 1983. He was jailed for 3 years in the eighties for his testimony to Christ. Pastor Aleksandrovich and his wife have 7 children ranging in age from 3 to 21 years of age (See picture at right).
The church is made up of about 100 people. The rented premises in which they had met they are no longer able to be used, having been expelled from them under the rules of the Russian government. They are now trying to save money to build there own building.
TUESDAY 20/04/2004: Ghana
Noah Quarshie - Osu-Accra - Grace Baptist ChurchIn January 13 men, including 6 pastors, attended a special week long seminar for the training of pastors in Northern Ghana. They hope to have more next year when the seminar is held again.
In February the medical clinic in Northern Ghana at Padjai was dedicated. Medical supplies are in short supply however.
There are six new churches in Northern Ghana. These are in Padjai, Kodome, Naamon, Kapioto, Lonto and Sabogida. On average there are 45 people attending each church.
The High School building project is continuing, while some 50 students are attending the school.
WEDNESDAY 21/04/2004: Nigeria
Recently Muslim militants from a surrounding country attacked a Christian Nigerian town and slaughtered about 50 people. Some 10 000 people have been killed in recent years. These militant groups are attempting to bring Nigeria completely under the spell of Islam. There are now 12 of 36 states living under Islamic Sharia Law.
THURSDAY 22/04/2004: India

FRIDAY 23/04/2004: Uganda
Reformed Presbyterian Churches in Northern UgandaI have recently been contacted by the Rev. Emmanuel Oroga, Moderator of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Northern Uganda. SATURDAY 24/04/2004: Sri Lanka
Buddhists are continuing their anti-Christian efforts, seeking anti-conversion laws and threatening Christians throughout the country. Church property has been destroyed in some attacks.
Though there is much opposition the gospel continues to spread and many are coming to Christ in Sri Lanka.
SUNDAY 25/04/2004: Ireland
Reformation IrelandDo remember the important work of Reformation Ireland.
Visit: http://www.reformationireland.com/
Visit: http://www.spring-ni.com/
MONDAY 26/04/2004: Vietnam
Please remember our persecuted brethren in Vietnam. That country’s determined effort to destroy Christianity is continuing with more Christians being arrested and assaulted. There is little in the way of justice for Christians in Vietnam, suffering greatly at the hands of the government and its allies.
TUESDAY 27/04/2004: Pakistan
Please remember our brethren in Pakistan. It is not easy being a Christian there, though it could be argued that this is true no matter where you live. Yet Pakistan is one of the more difficult places to be a believer. Christians are being killed in this country, which has more than its fair share of terrorist-like Muslims (NOTE: I am not saying all Muslims are terrorists).
WEDNESDAY 28/04/2004: Papua New Guinea
Colin and Dianne Lords - Ukarumpa - PNG Bible ChurchOver the period of 2003 five different New Testament translations were dedicated in Papua New Guinea. What this amounts to is some 26 000 people now having a copy of the Bible in their own language.
THURSDAY 29/04/2004: Kazakhstan
Recently a court case held in Kazakhstan saw charges brought against a Christian ministry for outreach work outside of the church were thrown out of court. This may mean better days ahead for Christian ministry in Kazakhstan. However, the case is set for a retrial.
FRIDAY 30/04/2004: Government
Remember our governments on this final day of April.
Latvia
Reformed believers have been found in Latvia since the 17th century, though the country is dominated by Roman Catholicism. Having suffered under the tyranny of both Hitler and Communism, Reformed Christians were almost completely wiped out in Latvia. Now there are at least five Reformed congregations in Latvia.
In the capital Riga a Reformed Theological Seminary is now in operation. However, Reformed believers in Latvia are struggling with limited resources, with some churches not even having songbooks.
